What’s that in the air? Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No. It’s the telltale chill that can only mean one thing: winter is coming.
If you’re the kind of person who mourns the loss of sunny days and outdoor activities, then we have something to cheer you up.
Calgary Sport and Social Club just opened their registration for winter sports leagues, and there are 15+ different sports to choose from!
These recreational leagues welcome both seasoned athletes or anyone looking for a fun way to stay active in the colder months. Whether you’re looking to reawaken your high school prowess at basketball or want to try something new, like pickleball, the Calgary Sport and Social Club has something for everyone.
You can register for a winter league as a full team, a small group of friends, or even individually. So, whether you’re looking to bond with your coworkers, spend time with your family, or make new friends in the city, there’s a registration option for you. And you don’t have to be a pro athlete! This is a recreational club, so these winter sports leagues are meant to be about having fun and enjoying the game rather than being ultra-competitive.
Here’s a taste of the sports available:
The Calgary Sport and Social Club is also the largest recreational club in YYC with 10,000 players per season – so, you know you’re in good company. And with leagues starting the week of January 14th, there’s no time to waste.
The deadline to register for the winter sports leagues is Wednesday, December 13th, so sign up online and join the thousands of other Calgarians who are gearing up for a fun and active winter season.
Bring on the winter!
