No matter what recreational activity you’re into, you’re going to need some gear. Luckily, come this fall you’ll have actually have one more spot to ready yourself for whatever gets your heart rate up, no matter how unique or bizarre your chosen sport may be. With equipment for over 65 different past times, Calgary’s upcoming mega-store, Decathlon, will more than likely have everything you need and then some.

Filling nearly 70,000 square feet at Southcentre Mall, Decathalon will be the very first of its kind in Western Canada featuring both international and local brands of everything from jerseys, and tape to sticks, gloves and balls.

“Our mission is to make the pleasures and benefits of sports accessible to the many and we are excited to bring our concept to Western Canada. We are also grateful to the local individuals and families that provided feedback in the design of this new store concept that is being piloted in Calgary,” said Leader of Decathalon, Richard Tremblay in a press release.

In addition to their insane inventory Decathalon will also have a cafe, co-working space, after-sale service workshops, and a multi-sport area where activities and classes will be taught by local coaches; which is unlike anything Calgary has really seen before. How exciting!

Honestly, despite having over 1,600 stores in the world – we’re feeling pretty dang special that they chose us for their first in Western Canada and we can’t wait to check it out. It’s going to be wild!
