Stampede Park is set to undergo a major transformation! The Calgary Stampede and CMLC have revealed a 20-year plan that is designed to make the park a year-round destination with venues and attractions for all ages.
The updated master plan will take the original 2004 vision and turn it up a notch, splitting Stampede Park into seven zones.
Each zone will focus on making the park more fun and exciting, whether it’s through entertainment, food spots, shopping and more.
According to the Calgary Stampede, the plan was 18 months in the making and involved collaboration with the CMLC, world-class designers at Populous, and community partners.
The goal was to create a vision that balances world-class design with what visitors actually want to see and do at the park.
Each of the seven zones comes with its own focus and purpose, whether it’s events, agriculture, or open spaces for everyone to enjoy.
Here’s a breakdown of what visitors can expect from each area:
Stampede Park is about to become more than just a festival ground. Visitors can expect everything from live events, hands-on experiences, festivals, and more ways to enjoy the park year-round.
The plan also heavily emphasizes sustainability, community partnerships, and heritage storytelling, which will ensure the park reflects Calgary’s past.
With all these upgrades and new experiences on the horizon, the future of Calgary Stampede is looking brighter than ever!
