Oh, you think that you’ve hit every rink there is in and around the city? Don’t put your blades away just yet, folks! First, you have to check out Calgary’s 730-metre, one-way skating trail in North Glenmore Park!

With plenty of space, picnic tables, benches, and even bleachers for your comfort, it’s safe to say that this brand new pilot project could be here to stay. The best part? It is lit-up with string lights the second the sun goes down.

In addition to having a ton of options when it comes to taking a rest or lacing up your skates, ice enthusiasts will also be able to warm up at the various fire pits placed along the trail. A cute touch perfect for an outdoor date, or frozen toes.

They’ll also feel pretty safe thanks to the city of Calgary’s 82 person limit which is meant to avoid overcrowding for obvious reasons – so thank goodness!

Lastly, for those who need them, skates can be rented on-site at the Skate Hut but only on weekends from 12 pm – 6 pm.

Other than that, it’s practically perfect – so bundle up, be safe and enjoy! You’re definitely going to want to check this one out!
