December is here, but with double digits in the forecast, it’s hard to believe that the holiday season is just around the corner.

This certainly isn’t what we’re used to, but the city is making the most of it in an unsuspected way.

We hope you’re still in the swing of things because two Calgary golf courses will soon reopen for a short time, as long as the weather continues to cooperate.

“With forecasts in the double digits, the City of Calgary is opening golf times at Maple Ridge and Shaganappi Point golf courses on December 5th,” the city wrote.

According to their booking portal, fairway fans will be able to play out the rest of the 2023 season on an 18-hole course in the south or a front and back nine in the north.

There are a few things worth noting before heading out, however!

First, power carts and concessions will not be available, but pull carts will be complimentary. In addition, temporary greens will be in play and all golfers will be required to tee off from the same tee markers.

Still interested? Rounds will start at just $15 at Shaganappi for their 9-hole or $25 at Maple Ridge for their 18-hole course and tee times can be reserved now through their portal.

Enjoy and happy swinging. You’re in for a great month, Calgary!
