Calgary is celebrating a decade of excellence in music and here’s how to attend

For many years, Calgary was known as a stepping-stone city for artists and musicians alike, a place where success meant migration to larger and more opportune waters.

That’s no longer the case, as proven by the 10th anniversary of the YYC Music Awards in Calgary.

The event is Calgary’s premier awards gala for the music community, spotlighting artists from our homegrown scene.

The awards celebrate musicians and industry shakers who embrace Calgary as their creative home and are invested in its thriving arts and culture ecosystem.

Categories from nearly every genre are represented, along with accolades for music video and audio production.

It’ll all take place at an exciting awards gala hosted at the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino on Sept. 28, 2025.

What to expect

From classical to metal, pop, folk, jazz, blues, alternative, and everything in between, the 2025 YYC Music Awards Gala will recognize outstanding artists in 29 award categories.

There are plenty of recognizable names on the nomination list, including indie pop darlings Thomas Thomas, blues-country songwriter Marcus Trummer, country lark Ashley Ghostkeeper, and R&B singer-songwriter ZENON.

It’ll be a celebration that will give the Calgary music industry a much-deserved moment to shine. The evening will also include live performances, special guest appearances, and networking opportunities to forge new relationships with other performers, composers, producers, and industry professionals.

The awards gala will take place on Sept. 28, 2025, with tickets starting at $39.

Come to this year’s YYC Music Awards and join the community in celebrating a successful decade of local music. We’ll see you there!
