Be it for the adrenaline-pumping rides, the exciting street performances, the drool-worthy culinary delights or simply the electric vibe. Whatever be your reason, Calaway Park is a summer staple for us Calgarians. And as they celebrate their 41st, or 40+1 (as they are calling it) anniversary, they’ve introduced two new augmented reality (AR) experiences and two new live stage shows for us to enjoy.

And this is in addition to the classic rides we love and the many stage and street performances and all the great eats.

So, two of the AR experiences are actually part of their live entertainment as well— the Enchanted Forest and Maxx’s Workshop. While the Enchanted forest brings the magical forest to life, Maxx’s Workshop will give you a peek into the workings of his brilliant inventions. Not gonna lie, the Enchanted Forest is something we’d totally want to get lost in.

Speaking of getting lost, the recently launched Calaway Fun AR app gives you access to a virtual map. With the map in your pocket, you won’t need to circuit through the park a gazillion times searching for your next ride.

Plus, the app comes with special photo options that will make your snap memories straight-up unforgettable. Just make sure to stop by the photo spots across from Dream Machine or on the bridge by Cinemagic 3D.
The youth performers are also back this year with two new live stage shows, Young Forever and Miss Unda Stood’s Villain Show. You can catch both shows at the Celebration Square Stage starting June 25th.

We know you’re eager to head out already! Regular at-the-gate tickets are priced at $49.95+GST and include all the rides and attractions. And if you wish to spend just a few hours there, well, you can opt for their ‘After 2 pm’ ticket. But if you want some serious discount, we suggest you check out the Playcation discounted tickets available on the Calaway Park website.

While the park is currently open on weekends. Starting June 29, however, you can hit it any day of the week. So, put on your SPFs, don those hats and get your fill of all summer thrills!
