One of the world’s ‘most beautiful flower fields’ is in BC & it’s been in bloom for over 100 years

From fields of daisies, lavender, and wisteria to bluebonnets, there are countless wildflower fields across the globe worth visiting if you’re a flower enthusiast. And if you’re looking for a list of ranked destinations to jumpstart your travels, Time Out and hotel chain Premier Inn have just the one for you.

The ranking (by Premier Inn) reveals 15 of the most beautiful flower fields in the world, using ‘eye-tracking’ software to record the average length of time people lingered on their photos.

The list includes BC’s own Butchart Gardens, which has been in bloom for over 100 years, offering visitors 55 acres to explore.

During the ranking, participants gazed at a photo of Butchart for an average of 2.77 seconds.

The year-round garden doubles as a National Historic Site, with 900 stunning plant varieties to check out (and counting). So if you want to visit a historic site in BC that immerses you in the spirit of spring, look no further.

As for the top 5 most beautiful flower fields in the world, Premier Inn and Time Out name the Daisy Flower Field in Chile’s Torres del Paine National Park as #1, with people lingering on the mountain-backed photo for an average of 3.89 seconds.

However, the list is dominated by the scenic flower fields of Europe, which score eight of the top 15 spots. According to Time Out, Monet’s Garden at Giverny in France is tied for second place with the Crested Butte Wildflower Festival in Colorado, with an average “gaze time” of 3.46 seconds.
