This quaint little Ontario village is decorated with picturesque heritage buildings

Time for a trip to the Ottawa Valley! Nestled in the heart of the valley is a village you may have not heard of, Burnstown, Ontario. This picturesque spot has all the makings for an adorable day away from the city featuring heritage buildings, cute cafes and a beach along the river.

Getting to Burnstown

If you’re travelling to Burnstown from Toronto, it’ll take you around 4 and a half hours by car. If you’re travelling from downtown Ottawa, this village is just an hour away down Highway 417 west past Arnprior.

One of the first things you may notice about Burnstown, Ontario are all the heritage buildings that line the main streets adding a truly magical feel when driving through the village.

What to do in Burnstown

Burnstown has an adorable farmer’s market every Friday! Stroll around and grab some local produce, snacks and other home goods.

Another popular stop in this quaint village is Neat Coffee Shop which happens to be in the same area as the farmer’s market. This place is much more than a coffee shop, however.

Neat has live musical acts, coffee, pizza, fresh baked goods and more.

End your day in Burnstown at the local beach! Burnstown Beach is situated along the Madawaska River. While this time of year may be hit or miss when it comes to taking a dip, the sandy beach is also the perfect spot to nestle up and take in the sights of the changing colours of the leaves and trees that line the area.

Burnstown, Ontario, you’re a gem.
