Celebrating the weird and wonderful happens once a year — and you can make the most of it with the month-long Burnaby Halloween Festival.

Just outside Vancouver, Burnaby is set on becoming Canada’s ultimate Halloween destination, and its 2024 season is sure to bring out some major thrills! The infamous festival is returning with a lineup of over 25 spine-chilling events and activities that will please families, horror junkies, and everyone in between.

Pumpkins After Dark (Burnaby Halloween Festival)

Make this Halloween one the kiddos will remember forever. Take a stroll through a mesmerizing world of Halloween wonder at Pumpinks After Dark, a spellbinding outdoor experience for all ages with over 6,000 meticulously carved pumpkins; or check out one of the interactive tours happening at Burnaby Village Museum’s Haunted Village: Legends, Tales, and Other Stories.

You can also take in a variety of events at The Amazing Brentwood from October 12 to 31. Watch Certified LEGO Professional Robin Sather create a masterpiece in front of your eyes, take in a movie on the big screen, join an interactive Storytime & Craft session, and trick-or-treat the 70+ neighbourhood retailers on Halloween.

Vancouver Horror Films Show: Burnaby Edition (Burnaby Halloween Festival)

If you’re a nerd about all things scary, the Burnaby Halloween Festival has you covered. The MastersFX Monster Museum will display over 80 exhibits of hand-crafted creatures from your favourite movies and TV shows, like The Predator, Six Feet Under, The Fall of the House of Usher, and more. You can also run amongst zombies and other creepy creatures at the Monster Dash 5K, or wind down with the Vancouver Horror Show Film Festival. 

Take what you’ve seen and learned and put your expertise to the test at Halloween & Horror Trivia on October 11 at the REC Room. You and your team just might win big! Plus bonus points for costumes, of course.

2023 Decorating Contest Winners (Burnaby Halloween Festival)

Step into a world of eerie acrobats, dramatic drag queens, and tantalizing tarot readers at the REC Room’s Halloween Bash on October 26. This 19+ celebration of the strange and spectacular will feature burlesque, drag, contortion, tarot reading, a DJ, and more. The REC Room will also host 8-Bit Burlesque: Super Ghouls ‘N Garters 2 on October 25.

Not into nightlife? Enjoy some low-key fun with a Halloween-themed Paint and Sip Night from October 20 to 27, or a hauntingly beautiful Halloween Candlelight Concert on October 26.
