This popular BC suspension bridge overlooks a flowing river and lush forest

There are many ‘hidden’ suspension bridges sprinkled across the province to discover, but Bright Angel Park is definitely one worth visiting this summer.

Situated among peaceful forested trails is one of the Cowichan Valley’s most popular suspension bridges at Bright Angel Park. Underneath, the Koksilah River flows, offering visitors a spot for a cool dip during the warmer months.

Located in one of the most charming small towns in the country, park visitors can easily make a day of exploring the area. Duncan is home to a number of Victorian heritage buildings, art galleries, cafes, and specialty boutiques, as well as BC’s longest-running farmer’s market.

According to the park’s website, Bright Angel Park attracts approximately 80,000 visitors annually, with children able to play in open grassy areas as well as at a playground.

There are also two picnic shelters available for rent during the daytime that can accommodate up to 30 and 60 people respectively.

The lower picnic shelter has a woodstove-style cooker, so if you’re looking for an ideal BBQ or picnic spot, this is it!

Note that dogs are permitted so long as they remain on a leash.

So there you have it, Vancouver! Here’s another suspension bridge and park to add to your map this summer.
