While the Muskokas are busy and thriving in the summer, fall is when the true beauty shines! Bracebridge is one of cottage country’s cutest towns, a picture-perfect area with a massive waterfall to explore and plenty of fall colours to take in.
The drive from Toronto to Bracebridge is about two hours on the dot.
The town is in the heart of the Muskoka area 15 minutes north of Gravenhurst.
The waterfalls in Bracebridge are a must-see especially this time of year.
The most popular is Bracebridge Falls. These falls have a silver bridge and the downtown strip as the backdrop – a stunning place to stop while you’re strolling the downtown strip.
Next up is High Falls. High Falls is made up of five waterfalls and the site is a perfect place to explore as it’s part of the Trans-Canada Trail. There are spots at the bottom and the top of the cascades to take in the views here.
Potts Fall is another spot you need to check out – located at the High Falls site the falls are just off the beaten path and are absolutely stunning!
Time to get your steps in at Huckleberry Rock.
“This local gem has been a beloved scenic hike for over 100 years, and is known as one of the best places to catch a sunset in Muskoka, Ontario,” shares the Muskoka Tourism page.
The 2.5km loop trail leads to a beautiful lookout point and is marked with white ribbons in trees and white marks on rocks, making it easy to navigate!
End your day exploring Bracebridge with a cold one from the Lake of Bays Bracebridge Barrelhouse.
Enjoy delicious snacks plus a selection of local brews on tap!
