Ontario has a glass-bottom boat cruise to shipwrecks & turquoise waters

All aboard! If you’re looking for the ultimate adventure on the water, then you have to set sail on the Blue Heron Tobermory Boat Cruise.

This excursion will take you to the most spectacular sights in the area, including Flowerpot Island, the lighthouse and the shipwrecks of Fathom Five National Marine Park.

You’ll have the best view possible of the shipwrecks on these glass-bottomed boats, which accommodate 125 passengers at once.

These boats also have an upper, open-air deck and a lower enclosed cabin. Plus, the forward-facing seats will give you the best view possible!

As you travel through the crystal-clear turquoise waters of Georgian Bay, you’ll get to see the Big Tub Lighthouse on Tobermory’s other harbour. That’s where you’ll view a 19th-century shipwreck!

From there you will cruise through the Devil Island Channel as well as the narrow channel between Cove Island and the Otter Islands.

Finally, you’ll be given a close-up view of the world-famous Flower Pots before returning back to the Tobermory harbour via Middle Island.

The extended Great Blue Heron Scenic Tour is about 90 minutes long and is offered until the end of Labour Day weekend.

However, there are other glass-bottomed boat tour options that will continue well into the fall.

You can opt for the non-stop tour or you can choose to be dropped off at Flowerpot Island, which allows you to hike and explore the historic light stations and ancient cliff cave.

Boat trips are also offered at sunset, and you can even explore Bruce Peninsula’s Grotto by jet boat.

Those who have explored the area by land will experience it in a whole new way on these glass-bottomed boats.

You can explore all of the different options at the Blue Heron Tobermory Boat Cruise website.

Bon voyage, explorers!
