Wild Rose Country has a ton of stunning destinations, but the Blackshale Suspension Bridge in Kananaskis, Alberta will take you to brand-new heights.
Hidden deep within Peter Lougheed Provincial Park, Blackshale overlooks a dense forest and is a must-visit if you’re seeking adventure in the warmer months.
Here, visitors can enjoy the fresh air and the beauty of the mountains without breaking too much of a sweat—unless they’re feeling ambitious and want to take a 6.8 km hike from the Black Prince Day Use.
Those who just want to enjoy the view, however, can take the hour-long car ride from Canmore to the trailhead and walk 0.5 miles to the attraction.
Either way, you’ll be in for a treat!
From deer and elk to flowers and open sky, there is plenty to see from this particular spot, just please remember to wear comfortable shoes and respect others while on the overpass.
Have a dog? Feel free to bring your furry friend, but keep them on a leash. You never know what or who else you’ll see along the way!
Gear up, stay safe, and enjoy a magical day.
You’re in for an unforgettable journey.
