Get ready for a spine-chilling, immersive Halloween pop-up experience taking over a beloved Toronto bar. Black Lagoon is making its annual rounds across North America this October and here’s what to know.

Starting October 16th, Toronto’s Bar Mordecai will transform into what nightmares are made of, as it will host the annual Black Lagoon pop-up.

The annual event will expand to 35 markets this year, throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Toronto is one of those lucky cities that will be treated to an array of creative Halloween-themed cocktail creations.

Expect cocktails such as:

  • Nosferatu’s Rise – Composed of Coconut Oil Lot 40, Lustau Amontillado Sherry, Cinnamon Syrup, Bitter Queens Caribbean Bitters, and Saline
  • Hex Appeal – Made up of Fords Gin, Honeydew Cordial, Lustau Vermut Dry, Lemon Juice, Seltzer, Saline, Absinthe, and Chlorophyll
  • Memento Mori – A spooky blend of Mezcal Union, Mr. Black Coffee Liqueur, Cruzan Blackstrap Rum, Cold Brew Concentrate, Giffard Banane, Lustau Amontillado, Saline, and Bitter Queens Chinese 5 Spice

Created by industry veterans Kelsey Ramage and Erin Hayes, Black Lagoon launched in Toronto in October 2021.

“Black Lagoon quickly gained a devoted following of cocktail and Halloween enthusiasts, solidifying its place as an annual staple for Halloween celebrations,” shares organizers.

It has established itself as one of the best bar pop-ups, so much so that it was actually named “Canada’s Best Pop-Up Bar” by Canada’s 100 Best in 2022.
