This ferry ride you can take in Toronto is one of the shortest in the world

We all love a quick commute, and in Toronto, one of the ways to get around off land is by ferry, but did you know that the city is home to one of the shortest ferry rides in the world? Yup – if you’re taking the scenic route to Billy Bishop Airport in Toronto aboard the ferry, you certainly won’t have to worry about travelling for too long!

According to Billy Bishop, the commute is less than 2 minutes.

“Travelling a distance of 121 metres across the Western gap, the trip takes about 90 seconds, making the ferry ride to and from Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport one of the shortest in the world.”

That’s not the only cool part about the ferry either. Billy Bishop states that the ferry, called Marilyn Bell, is 100 percent electric powered and is Canada’s first truly zero emission, lithium-ion electric ferry.

A quick ride and environmentally friendly, we love to see it.

The ferry departs from the foot of Bathurst Street and is totally free for pedestrians or $15 for vehicles (return trip).

The quick turnaround makes for frequent trips with the ferry schedule running from 05:15 AM- 12:07 AM daily and ferry crossings every 15 minutes.

So next time you have to fly out of Billy Bishop in Toronto, why not take one of the shortest ferry rides in the world while you’re at it?!
