Toronto’s getting a huge street festival with art, food markets & a thrift bazaar

Get ready, Toronto! One of the city’s biggest free street festivals is coming this weekend and it’ll be showcasing the community’s art and culture scene.

BIG on Bloor festival is back for its 16th year on July 15th and 16th. A part of Bloor Street West between Dufferin and Lansdowne will be closed off to cars, allowing for a full pedestrian takeover.

Over 100,000 visitors are expected throughout the weekend, supporting more than 100 local artists and small businesses.

Attendees can expect to see outdoor murals, window displays, and public installations, including activities and other displays.

You’ll have the chance to compete in fort-making competitions, axe throwing, and other activities.

“We are excited to present an alternative community event that celebrate community-building, local businesses and the diverse arts and culture of the area,” shares organizers.

“Calm down zones, less vendor crowding, and environmental installations are a focus this year to emphasis the community, its creators, and the local shops which makes us great.”
