Bidding is now open on a private trip to space with Jeff Bezos

Have you ever wished that Jeff Bezos would leave Earth? Well, your wish is kind of about to come true because he’s headed to space. If you happen to have a few million bucks you can actually join him! Sounds crazy right? Well, Jeff and his brother Mark are celebrating Blue Origin’s space tourism business opening in the biggest way possible.

On July 20th, Jeff, Mark, and a lucky passenger will take Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket to space. This flight will be the rocket’s first human flight so we’re pretty surprised to see the Bezo’s hopping on board. But when you’re the wealthiest man in the world, you don’t really have anything to lose.

The New Shepard rocket can hold six people in its capsule. While it might sound cramped, each passenger gets their own large window. And if you’d like to see it for yourself, keep your eyes peeled because commercial space travel is just around the corner. Although we’ll assume a ticket to space will cost you more than you think.

Speaking of cash money, if you want to be that lucky passenger on the July 20th flight, you have to be pretty wealthy. Because at the time of writing the bid around $3.2 million USD, ouch. Time’s running out to raise funds too, since you only have until June 12th to raise a few million to beat the current bid. That being said, we kinda knew a spot on this flight wouldn’t be as great a deal as a Spirit Airlines ticket.

It should make you feel better to know that the end sum will be donated to Club for the Future which is Blue Origin’s education foundation.
