Canada has made it to another list once again – this time for the best universities that are making efforts to help the world’s environmental and social issues. Three Canadian educational institutions made the top 20.

Quacquarelli Symonds released its inaugural QS World University Rankings: Sustainability, on Wednesday which evaluates how universities are taking action to tackle the world’s most pressing issues such as the environment and social issues.

Out of the 700 universities featured, the University of Toronto came in second and the University of British Columbia in third.

It isn’t until 17th place that we see another Canadian name – Western University.

The results were based on two categories: Environmental Impact (Sustainable Institutions, Sustainable Education, and Sustainable Research) and Social Impact (Equality, Knowledge Exchange, Impact of Education, Employability, and Opportunities, and Quality of Life).

According to the ranking, the next Canadian university to make the list is McGill University, and the University of Waterloo tied in 42nd. Well, we could do better.
