The first full week of April has arrived, and naturally we want to make the most of it around Vancouver. Let’s see what we can get up to this week, and have some springtime fun!

Here are the 10 best things to do in Vancouver this week.

Beach House

This dreamy and atmospheric band has been a Vancouver favourite for well over a decade. Luckily, they continue to prove themselves as one each and every time they return!

When: Tuesday, April 5th
Where: 630 Hamilton Street
Cost: $82+

Olivia Rodrigo

Alongside Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo is easily one of the most-anticipated concerts coming to Vancouver. She hasn’t yet reached Rogers Arena status, and because of that, ticket prices have gone through the roof.

When: Thursday, April 7th
Where: 6066 Thunderbird Boulevard, UBC
Cost: $250+

Drain Gang

For something a little more, uh, intense, we’ve got a Drain Gang concert in Vancouver this week. Bladee, Ecco2k, and Thaiboy Digital will be taking over Fortune Sound Club, in what is sure to be one of the craziest concerts of the month.

When: Wednesday, April 6th
Where: 147 E Pender Street
Cost: $150+

Greater Vancouver Food Truck Fest

We’re kicking things off with some food trucks! Throughout the next few months, this festival will be bringing some of the best food trucks in the region to a variety of cities, ranging from Burnaby to Surrey to Richmond. First up- Food Truck Wars in Surrey!

When: Starts Friday, April 8th
Where: Locations around Greater Vancouver

Bloedel Conservatory

If you’re getting fed up of the rain (fair enough), then this could be the perfect way to forget about it for a little bit. After all, a space filled with tropical plants and birds is a great alternative to holding up an umbrella or stress-testing that new GORE-TEX shell.

When: Open throughout the week
Where: 4600 Cambie Street
Cost: $7.05

Find some Cherry Blossoms

On the flipside, those looking to enjoy our city’s most beautiful natural attraction (yeah, we’re making that claim) can spend the entire month looking for cherry blossoms and still not see them all! So, for the best places to go, we’ve helped you out.

Where: BC Place, Vancouver and Starlight Stadium, Abbotsford
Tickets: $30+ for GA

Capture Photography Festival

First launched back in 2013, Capture has since become the largest photography festival in Western Canada. Both local and international artists get featured in a variety of ways, from free exhibitions to billboard takeovers around the city. We say make the most of it.

When: On throughout the week
Where: All around Vancouver
Cost: Varies

Cirque du Soleil

After a 2-year hiatus, Cirque du Soleil has returned to Vancouver! What’s more, it brought a ‘reinvented’ version of one of its most popular shows- Alegria. Head on down to the Big Top so see what it’s all about.
