Welcome to the first week of spring, Edmonton! What’s more, it’s looking like the forecast is on our side, and we’ve got a sunny week ahead. We’re looking forward to it, thanks to some great options both inside and out!

Here are the 10 best things to do in Edmonton this week.

ST.ARNAUD

There are two concerts featuring local talent in the city this week! First up is St.Arnaud, who strikes a balance of indie-folk stylings with, we’ll call it, more serious lyrics. It’s a fun contrast, and you’ll find yourself grooving just as often as you think “Sheesh, that’s a fun take”.

When: Wednesday, March 23rd
Where: 10030 – 102 Street
Cost: $10+

THE BOBBY TENDERLOIN UNIVERSE

We don’t know if post-country is a legitimate genre, but this band absolutely falls into it. The lead singer’s deep voice matches perfectly with the harmony, and the soundtrack behind it mixes traditional country sounds with some modern touches. We saw them open for Orville Peck a while back, and were immediate fans.

When: Thursday, March 24th
Where: 10030 – 102 Street
Cost: $10+

PARANORMAL TOURS AT FORT EDMONTON PARK

It’s a far cry from a regular day at Fort Edmonton Park, that’s for sure. Over three hours, you’ll explore “the shadows of Edmonton’s River Valley”. And, that tour includes stops at three hotspots and a little education on conducting paranormal investigations.

When: Wednesday, March 23rd
Where: 7000 143 Street NW
Cost: $65 for GA

JANE EYRE AT THE CITADEL THEATRE

COSÌ FAN TUTTE

Feeling a little fancy this week? You might want to go see this new production from the Edmonton Opera. The plot? Two sisters have pranks pulled on them by their fiances to prove their faithfulness. Not the most progressive angle, but hey, it was created by Mozart.

Where: 11455 87 Avenue NW
Tickets: $29+

JON DORE LIVE AT THE GRINDSTONE THEATRE

For something decidedly less high brow, the acclaimed comedian Jon Dore is putting on a few shows this week at the Grindstone! If you’re looking for a few laughs, then look no further.

When: Starts Wednesday, March 23rd
Where: 10019 81 Avenue NW

EDMONTON VALLEY ZOO

With the weather hopefully getting nicer, it could be time to head back to the zoo! Watching some animals lay around, play, and just vibe is weirdly therapeutic for us, and it’s fun for all ages.

SLOTH WORLD

On the flipside, this new animal exhibit from Canada’s largest exotic animal rescue organization has come to West Ed. Meet snakes, tortoises, ferrets, and of course, a sloth, with photo opps galore.

EDMONTON OILERS

The Oilers only have one home games this week, and it goes down on Thursday! They’ll be up against Evander Kane’s old team, the San Jose Sharks, so we’re sure things will get a little gritty out there.
