10 of the best spots in Toronto to order tasty tacos

Let’s taco-bout it! If I had to narrow down my favourite foods, tacos are almost always taking the top spot. There are so many ways to do them and so many amazing spots in the city serving them up. It was tough to decide, but these are 10 of the best spots in Toronto to order tacos.

El Sazon de la Tia Flor

These tacos are are authentic as they get.

With two locations in the city, El Sazon de la Tia Flor has some of the best tacos in Toronto hands down. The pastor tacos and cochinita pibil tacos are a game-changer.

Where: El Sazon de la Tia Flor, 1549 O’Connor Dr & 1698 Eglinton Ave W

Tacos Moras

Tacos Moras is where it’s at.

The grilled fish tacos with hot sauce will not disappoint but the carnitas and pollo tacos are a very close second.

Where: Tacos Moras, 547 St Clair Ave W & 523 Danforth Ave

Playa Cabana

Not only does Playa Cabana have some of the best tacos I’ve ever had, but it comes with some of the best service as well.

If you head to any of Playa Cabana’s locations I highly recommend the al carbon with grilled chicken, guajillo-chipotle adobo, mango and avocado.

Don’t forget to add a dollop of all of their house hot sauces!

Where: Playa Cabana, 111 Dupont St, 36 Wellington St E, 8 Broadway Ave, 8 Eglinton Ave E & 2883 Dundas St W

Seven Lives

Right in the heart of Kensington Market is Seven Lives aka a taco lovers paradise.

They’ll tell you themselves, but the fish tacos are by far the best here. Order them and thank me later!

Where: Seven Lives, 72 Kensington Ave

El Rey

While you’re in Kensington Market leave room for more tacos from El Rey.

In the summer the patio here is a blast. Grab the crispy squid tacos and have a great time.

Where: El Rey, 2A Kensington Ave

Fonda Balam

Fonda Balam is the perfect place to stop if you want to not only enjoy some tacos but also get a full dining experience.

The vibes at Fonda Balam are high and the tacos will not disappoint. Any of the birria tacos are the way to go.

Where: Fonda Balam, 802 Dundas St W

The Haam

The Haam is a fusion restaurant where you’ll find sushi but also tacos.

The bulgogi beef tacos and shrimp tacos are great picks here (don’t forget to treat yourself to a glass of sake, too!)

Where: The Haam, 342 Adelaide St W

Wilbur

Wilbur is my go-to for quick but delicious tacos.

This spot is located right downtown on King West and serves up awesome bites such as baja fish, bulgogi and chicken tinga tacos – yum!

Where: Wilbur, 552 King St W

Puerto Bravo

Puerto Bravo’s tacos are the ones that I find myself craving most often.

Located on Gerrard St East, Puerto Bravo’s taco selection includes pulpo al carbon (grilled octopus), carne asada, shrimp, and there’s even a vegan option with potatoes, vegan Chorizo, avocado salsa, onions and cilantro.

Where: Puerto Bravo, 1425 Gerrard St E

It’s never a bad time for tacos, Toronto!
