This year, nearly 165,000 T+L readers weighed in on their experiences travelling the globe and from hotels and cities, cruise ships spas and airlines – they were able to create a catalogue of their favourites in various countries and categories.

According to the publication, resorts across the country were given a rating of excellent, above average, average, below average, or poor on everything from rooms and facilities, location and quality of service to food and the overall value, then assigned a score.

What they found, was that with a score of 96.65 Manoir Hovey in North Hatley, Quebec was Canada’s crown jewel, followed by properties in Whistler, Banff and Tofino.

“A perennial winner, this cozy Relais & Châteaux property is just over the U.S.-Canadian border, in the village of North Hatley,” they wrote.

“With only 36 rooms and one cottage, Manoir Hovey feels special and private, which T+L readers appreciate. It’s the perfect place to curl up and relax.”

As for the others? Here are their top resorts in Canada for 2023 in order with an overall score:

  1. Manoir Hovey: North Hatley, Quebec – 96.65
  2. Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler: Whistler, British Columbia – 92.51
