This BC restaurant is among the best in the world for date nights

We love a good date night spot, and there are two in Canada that were just awarded a place on the annual Travellers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best Restaurants.

Compiled by the world’s largest travel guidance platform, the list looks at nine different categories in the restaurant space: fine dining, date night, casual dining, hidden gems, pet-friendly, vegan & vegetarian, quick bites, and outdoor and sustainable.

First, the quality and quantity of traveller reviews and ratings on Tripadvisor were looked at between June 1st, 2023 and May 31st, 2024. Then, the selections underwent “an additional editorial process,” according to organizers. 

So while there are lots of tasty mentions to comb through, we’re locked in on the ones that scream ‘romance!’

Best Date Night Restaurants

The two Canadian restaurants recognized in this category are AG Inspired Cuisine in Niagara, ON and Pluvio on Vancouver Island.

Recognized for its innovative dishes, creative presentation, and homey feel, Pluvio (named for ‘pluviophile,’ a lover of rain) gets a round of applause for its “attentive service and engaging ambiance, making each visit special.”

Diners can sip on impressive cocktails that pair perfectly with the unique flavours of its memorable tasting menu.

The restaurant-hotel is located in Ucluelet at 1714 Peninsula Road – so if you’re planning a trip to the Island sometime soon, it’s absolutely worth the visit.
