Nothing says ‘Christmas vacation’ quite like a family trip to the slopes – but in Alberta, the mountains aren’t the only spot where the boarding is good!
According to Travel Pulse, Calgary is actually one of the best in North America for an urban ski trip, citing Winsport as an incredible alternative for those who prefer to stay within city limits.
Home to the 1988 Winter Olympics, this one-of-a-kind destination is only 18 minutes from downtown and provides fun for all ages.
While guests can check it out any time of the year, Winsport really comes to life in the winter, offering ski and snowboard lessons, as well as a training studio, places to grab a bite and more.
“With Winsport’s convenient location, you can enjoy the best of both worlds,” they wrote, adding that not far from the hill travellers will find upscale hotels, restaurants and parks.
