Over 800 Canadian breweries have come together to compete in the Canadian Brewing Awards but only a few get a chance to win and be named the best of the best.

The Canadian Brewing Awards have released this years best beers in Canada.

With 61 categories, many brewers from east to west managed to take home gold, silver and bronze!

But to determine the winners, a team of experienced judges carefully taste and evaluate each entry to determine the top beers in each category according to BJCP guidelines.

“Each entry receives structured and comprehensive tasting notes from a panel of independent judges. We adhere to BJCP standard to maintain the quality and consistency of notes,” shares the awards.

“On the day of the awards ceremony, the winners of each category will be announced, and medals will be awarded to the top beers. The ceremony is open to all brewers and is a great opportunity to taste the cream of the crop in Canadian brewing.”

Well it looked like there were a ton of winners on awards night, especially for Ontario.

According to the list, Ontario took home 48 awards from gold, silver and bronze. Alberta won 32 awards, and British Columbia with 47.
