If you love an afternoon of snowy adventures, you’ll definitely want to add Beatton Provincial Park to your road trip map this winter. Situated near Fort St. John, the year-round park is on the shores of Charlie Lake, with 320 beautiful hectares to explore.

In the summertime, the park is a popular spot for swimming, fishing, and hiking. And during the winter months, visitors can experience over 15 kilometres of groomed cross-country ski trails, according to BC Parks.

The trails are designed for beginner, intermediate, and advanced skiing. So no matter what your skill level is, you’re all but guaranteed a thrilling experience.

The park also contains a designated snowshoe trail and a toboggan hill, so you’ve got plenty of options when it comes to winter recreation.

Beatton Park is located 13 km northwest of Fort St. John off Highway 97.

Note that the campground and access to the lake are currently closed for the season, according to a representative of the Ministry of Environment & Climate Change Strategy.
