Wined Down: An adorable vineyard for sale in a beautiful part of BC

We’re going to take a break from multi-million dollar mansions and design-focused houses, and instead just wined down a little bit. We’ve come across an adorable little vineyard for sale in the Similkameen Valley, one of BC’s most beautiful regions. Let’s check it out!

The property is located near Cawston, which is itself some 25 minutes west of Osoyoos in the southern tip of the Thompson Okanagan region. A mixture of desert-like geography and plenty of sun has made the area a prime target for summer activities and options, from orchards to golf to days at the lake.

And of course, it ain’t half bad for wine either! There are now quite a few wineries operating around the area, including some of the best in the country. Like Nk’Mip Cellars, which is actually the first Indigenous-owned winery in all of Canada. Not a bad neighbour to have, if you ask us!

You might not exactly be on the same level as them, but you’ll get some room to play around. Currently, the 5.7 acre property grows four different kinds of grapes- Gewürztraminer, Muscat, Cabernet Sauvignon & Pinot Noir. What’s more, the grapes have been grown using organic techniques, only adding to the whole ‘of the earth’ vibe.

Don’t get us wrong, though, this might not be the pick for those who just wanna kick back, relax, and grow grapes to sell. You totally could, but you’d have to figure out what to do with all the winemaking equipment in the lower level of the house on the property. Yeah, you’ll literally live the wine life here.

Luckily, the rest of the house is pretty standard, having been renovated back in 2010. You’ve got 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a nice kitchen for hosting guests, and even a wraparound deck for kicking back after a long summer’s day. Standard, but we think it’s exactly what you’d want from a cozy little vineyard in BC.

Which, by the way, doesn’t have a knock your socks off price tag. This property is currently listed for $1,590,000 CAD, or just over the average detached home in Vancouver right now. Yeah, we’d take the vineyard.
