Royal BC Museum

What better place to start than the Royal BC Museum? Considered one of Canada’s ‘greatest treasures,’ the museum is home to provincial archives dating back to the museum’s creation in 1886 and beyond, safeguarding natural and human history for years to come.
Right now, there are two open positions: One temporary Collections Assistant role through
Young Canada Works, and one permanent Archives Manager position. The museum also offers student opportunities, which are posted on individual university job boards.

Vancouver Art Gallery
Passionate about art and preserving art history? The Vancouver Art Gallery currently has six positions to be filled: Visitor Services Associate, Membership Desk Assistant, People and Culture Advisor, People and Culture Administrator, Working Capital Manager, and Gallery Store Supervisor.

Chinese Canadian Museum
In 2020, a group of community members and scholars came together to form the Chinese Canadian Museum Society of BC. The Museum honours the diverse history, contributions, and heritage of Chinese Canadians, and it’s currently hiring a Facilities and Operations Manager, Associate Curator, and multiple part-time Museum Assistants.
Note that there are two museum locations: One inside the Wing Sang Building in Vancouver, and one in the famed Fan Tan Alley in Victoria.

Britannia Mine Museum
Last but certainly not least, we come to the Britannia Mine Museum, which preserves the material and social history of mining in the province. The museum is looking to fill four positions at the moment, including two in Guest Services, a Summer Historic Interpreter, and a Summer Maintenance Grounds Assistant.
