If you haven’t heard about the inaugural BC Dumpling Festival coming to Vancouver this summer, let us enlighten you. The recently formed Asian Arts and Culture Society is presenting the first festival of its kind in the Tri-Cities, bringing neighbours and friends together to enjoy dumplings from a variety of cultures.
The idea behind the fest was sparked during the rise of anti-Asian hate & crime during COVID-19. The result? A multi-cultural, family-friendly event to bring awareness to the communities affected, and celebrate Vancouver’s diverse dumpling scene.
So, what can folks expect at the festival this year? Let’s get into all the delicious details…
From charcoal bao with gold flakes to siu mai, gyoza, steamed buns, and delicious pierogi from around the globe – the dumpling lineup looks absolutely divine.
In addition to food trucks and dumpling vendors galore, visitors can expect a kids zone, public art display, and live entertainment on their performance stage. All of this is made possible through the efforts of the festival’s volunteers!
