Base-jumper with zero fear plunges from Toronto skyscraper on skis (VIDEO)

Some people were born with a greater thirst for adrenaline than the average human, and this group of BASE jumpers in Toronto is a perfect example. A short film posted on YouTube earlier this week called The Air Up There depicts the crazy stunts that they’ve pulled from the highest heights in the city.

These aren’t just your average adrenaline junkies, either. The video describes them as “highly trained professionals” in the sport of BASE jumping, which stands for Building, Antenna, Span, and Earth — the four places that one can jump from.

Jumpers can dive from the edge of where they’re standing or get a running start for some more momentum, using a parachute or wingsuit to land. Unsurprisingly, it’s considered one of the most dangerous extreme sports ever.

Somehow, one of the people featured in The Air Up There managed to make their jump even riskier by skiing down a building with a curved roof, using it as a ramp to dive into the air and plunge towards the concrete below.

One BASE jumper in the video ran along the edge of the Scotiabank building’s roof, and another individual is filmed climbing to the very top of a sky-high construction crane.

Clips of news segments are interspersed throughout the video, where reporters talk about a police investigation that was initiated as a result of their stunts.

The same thing happened back in August when a video of a man surfing on the back of a moving TTC subway train went viral.

And now to state the obvious — despite how cool it looks, please don’t attempt any of these stunts yourself.
