A celebration of beauty and “the majesty of the winter season,” the Banff SnowDays Festival will return to everyone’s favourite National Park this month and Albertans are in for some incredibly “cool” experiences.
With so many things to do over the course of 12 days, guests should expect to see large crowds, enthusiastic visitors, fresh air and tons of powder, packed and used for everything from Skijoring to tobogganing.
If of course, you’re only in the area for a short time, we’d recommend checking out one of the event’s most magical activities – the Banff snow sculptures walk.

Described as “an exhibition of mastery,” this icy gallery will feature larger-than-life pieces meticulously carved by professionals for travellers.
Grab a hot chocolate and roam the streets either during the day or at nighttime when the sculptures are illuminated by bright lights and camera flashes, then enjoy the sights and restaurants on their downtown strip.
