Looking for a new park or beach to check out on your next day trip or weekend getaway? Bamberton Park is situated on the southern part of the Island, and it offers visitors some pretty spectacular sunsets – among many recreational activities for outdoor enthusiasts. If Golden Ears is busy and you’re not sure where to go on your last-minute adventure, this is a great option.

A former bustling cement plant, Bamberton Park holds historical significance as much as it holds BC’s natural wonders. There’s a 225-metre-long beach with warm, swim-friendly waters, a 1.5 km hiking trail from the campground to the beach day-use area, and prime paddling spots.

Remnants of the area’s industrial past can also be seen throughout the park.

The park provides picnic areas equipped with tables, benches, and barbecue facilities. It is a great spot for families and friends to gather, enjoy a meal, and soak in the scenic surroundings.

Frontcountry and vehicle-accessible campsites can be reserved online, operating on a first-come-first-served basis. Note that there is a current campfire ban in effect as of June 8th.

So there you have it, BC. Enjoy your visit and snap some sweet sunset pics!
