After a long year, Ballard could definitely use a touch of magic. And that’s exactly what it’s about to get as it looks like the wizard-themed bar by the name of Splintered Wand will open at the end of July. Now, this bar has been in the works since 2018 and it’s set to be a truly magical experience that will you transport you out of the city and maybe even this world.
The Splintered Wand takes up several floors in Ballard’s historic Flatiron Building which was built in 1896. The reason why the bar is so expansive is because it’s also going to have a wand shop and event space. Visitors can make custom wands based on their astrological signs in workshops taught on the second floor. Or they can rent out the third floor’s private event space. Plus it looks like some magic and spell classes might be taught here in the future.

Already sounds pretty cool right? Well get this, the Splintered Wand is really all about the experience. So when you visit you’ll be greeted in character by all of the witches and wizards that will serve you up the bar’s thirst-quenching selection of boozy potions. It also looks like you’ll be able to snack on some British pub-influenced foods but a menu has not been released yet. Now with that in mind, the bar will be 21+ but you can opt to have drinks made without booze.
It feels pretty safe to say that a visit here is almost like a show as you’re getting a lot more than just a drink and meal. Now because this is something Seattle doesn’t really have yet, it’s probably going to be pretty dang popular. For that reason, reservations will only be available online to start. So if you’re looking to have a magical experience we recommend clicking below to keep up with the opening and we might just see you there. Enjoy folks!
