Picture this – it’s a warm and sunny Saturday afternoon in June, you’re on a picnic blanket in the park with a box of fresh pastries ready to be shared over iced coffee with friends. Sounds like a nice daydream, doesn’t it? Well, we’re here to tell you that you could make that your reality all summer long if you wanted to, thanks to the new Baker’s Market coming to Toronto.

The Baker’s Market will be open every Saturday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., starting in early June and ending in late September.

You’ll be able to browse the delicious inventory of over 25 vendors selling handmade and artisanal baked goods, sweets, breads, savoury treats and even frozen goodies. Some you may recognize and others are hidden gems waiting to be discovered.

“Enjoy everything from freshly baked pastries to French macarons, fluffy scones, decadent cookies and squares, and even gluten-free, vegan and raw options,” the description says.

“From the seriously nutritious and delicious to the totally indulgent, there truly is something for everyone.”

The market will be hosted at the Street Eats Market, described as Canada’s biggest launchpad of its kind for emerging independent street food businesses.

It will be an eventful spring and summer at the market, with a taco fest and mac n’ cheese fest planned in June, an ice cream fest in July, a Halal night market in August, and more — you can see the full schedule here.

Between Taste of the Danforth, Taste of Little Italy, Canada’s first ethnic food and wine festival, and the Jamaican patty fest, it’s safe to say that we’ve got a lot of eating to do in Toronto over the next few months.
