This Bainbridge Island restaurant ranks among the best new restaurants in the US for 2023

While the end of the year may still seem far away, we’re already nine months in and a lot has happened, especially when it comes to new restaurants. Washington and more specifically the Seattle are no stranger to good food. That’s confirmed in a new ranking from Bon Appétit which places Bainbridge Island’s Seabird among the best new restaurants in the nation.

The 24 restaurants included in this ranking are located coast to coast and we’re chosen by Bon Appétit staff. Seabird is the only restaurant in Washington to make the cut but the list did include Portland’s Kann+Sousol. Way to go PNW!

The top 10 best new restaurants of 2023 are as follows:

3. Chilte, Phoenix, AZ
4. Dakar NOLA, New Orleans, LA
5. Ensenada, Brooklyn, NY
6. Este, Austin, TX

Seabird ranked #22 and the restaurants must order items according to Bon Appétit are the following: “Seaweed focaccia, albacore crudo, wood-fired potatoes and leeks, sugar-kelp-wrapped king salmon, Seabird Martini.”

Overall, the restaurant got props for the adventure that it takes to get there aka the ferry ride. It was also described as more of a “fairy-tale cabin the woods” than restaurant and got props for its wood fired oven. Plus there was a shout out for the restaurants use of locally caught and harvested seafood.
