If you know Andrea’s Cookies, you’ve probably set your alarms at some point over the past year to try to make sure you don’t miss her pre-order online. After all, online orders were the only way to get a hold of these famed and loved cookies. So when Andrea Mears announced she is opening a shop, her online fans (selves included) were very excited.
In the fall, Mears secured a space for a bakery at 1632 Bloor Street West, and she announced the grand opening will be on Saturday July 30th, at noon until the cookies are sold out.
Mears told Curiocity that on opening day, the shop will be serving cookies with a scoop of ice cream and there will also be a selection of the best-selling flavours for customers to purchase.
The Toronto baker has come a long way since her days baking at home after losing her job during the pandemic.

“I started the Instagram page for fun in the fall of 2019 and when COVID hit, I was no longer employed so I decided to put more time into baking and trying to sell what I made,” said said.
“The business really took off when I opened my website in July 2020 and started taking orders online vs just on Instagram. By the holidays, I was selling out within minutes often leaving customers frustrated and disappointed. By February 2021, I started looking for retail space and secured this location in the fall of 2021. Since then, we’ve done extensive renovations to the space and prepared for the store opening later next month.”
So what can Andrea’s Cookies fans expect once the store opens?
Mears said that pre-orders will still take place every Monday at 7 pm on her website. “Customers can place a custom order for in-store pickup or delivery on the Thursday, Friday or Saturday of that week. The shop will also be open for walk-ups on Thursday-Saturday of each week from 11 am until 4 pm or sold out.”
Keep in mind, hours and dates are subject to change, but this is what can be expected at the start.
As for the cookies, all the faved flavours will be offered, such as mini egg, Reese’s, salted toffee, and red velvet.
The cost will be $3.50 per cookie (in store only), or 3 cookies for $10 (in store only). As well, 1/2 a dozen will be $20, and a dozen will be $39.
