With so many waterfalls and so few summer weekends to enjoy here in Ontario, it’s hard to know which ones are worth visiting. Although we could very easily say all of them are worth the trip, this destination is one where you definitely can’t go wrong. Albion Falls is one of the most popular cascades in Ontario’s City of Waterfalls. Here’s what to know.
Albion Falls is considered to be one of the most picturesque, spanning 18 metres wide and 19 metres tall.
According to Tourism Hamilton, “Albion Falls is a stepped jewel, classified as a cascade as it ripples over the Niagara Escarpment.”
The rushing falls are surrounded by lush forest and a scenic bridge overhead, with two viewing platforms to take in the sights.

You can hike your way around the falls on a leisurely 6-km trail that begins at Buttermilk Falls in the Oak-Knoll parking lot.
The Mountain Bow Side Trail has stunning views of the Albion Falls from a couple of lookout points, and then you can access the Bruce Trail into the Red Hill Valley.
You can also cycle to the falls from downtown Hamilton along the Escarpment Rail Trail from Corktown Park and into King’s Forest.
Because of how popular the falls are, Tourism Hamilton suggests planning your visit during off-peak times (early morning or weekdays) and to avoid parking on roadways if the parking lots are full.
And if you’re feeling up to it, you can head to one of the many surrounding waterfalls in the Hamilton and Ancaster area, and refuel with a waterfall-side brunch buffet at Ancaster Mill.
