Winter 2022 is off to a frosty start. In fact, it’s the coldest it’s been in years! This week, not only did people all over the province freeze their butts off, Environment Canada published a chilling report that confirmed Alberta broke nearly 40 long-standing weather records over the last few days.
From Breton to Nordegg, cities, towns and hamlets all over the province recorded colder temperatures lower than ever before – and the season has only just begun!
“A prolonged cold spell over Alberta has led to many broken temperature records,” they wrote, adding the three of coldest days were November 30th, December 1st and December 2nd.
