This Alberta train ride takes you on an adventure through colourful fall foliage

Canada is spectacular in fall and one of the most unique ways to experience its beauty is on the Alberta Prairie Railway (APR).

This season, enjoy passing larch trees, food, and several Alberta hotspots with friends, family, or your special someone.

What to expect

Looking for a memorable adventure in the heart of Alberta?

Climb aboard and see the Prairies from a whole new point of view.

Best known for its Polar Express ride, APR offers incredible rides all year round – but our favourite time to check it out is actually in the Autumn.

While the season comes and goes in the blink of an eye, there is nothing more beautiful than rows of golden trees against a bright blue sky and the Fall Colours Special is among the best ways to enjoy it.

Described as giving tourists the chance to “enjoy the colours and smells of the fall countryside,” this particular ride will take 7 hours and offers a little something for everyone.

During the excursion, passengers will see beautiful trees, can sink their teeth into a roast turkey meal, will visit the Jimmy Jock Boardwalk as well as the McAlister Motor Museum in Big Valley, and are encouraged to watch live entertainment.
