The winners of the 2020 Canadian Brewing Awards were announced earlier this week, and Albertan brands took home a whopping 17 gold medals! That’s more than any other province, and it means you’ve got tons of great beers to pick for your end of summer BBQ.

The biggest winner was Calgary’s Common Crown Brewing, which won Brewery of the Year in 2020. Not only that, but they took home golds in the Scotch Ale, Brown Ale, and North American Wheat Beer categories.

Other winners include Edmonton’s Sea Change (Light Lager) and Turner Valley’s Brauerei Fahr (Pilsner and Amber to Dark Lager). But, those are just a small selection of the total list. One thing is for sure, your ‘must-try’ beer list this winter just got a lot longer.
