Call us biased, but there’s nothing more spectacular than Alberta in the fall – except maybe the feeling you’ll get from watching it all pass by the window of a steam train.

This month, enjoy the sights, sounds and food offered aboard the Alberta Prairie Railway – an old-timey company that provides memorable excursions and fantastic opportunities to families, friends and couples looking for a new point of view.

Known best for its Polar Express ride, this attraction is accessible all year round – but our favourite time to check it out is actually in the Autumn.

Though it comes and goes in the blink of an eye, there’s nothing quite like it – which is why we’d recommend purchasing a ticket for their Fall Colours Special – a 5-hour trip with a little something for everyone.

On this seasonal ride, passengers will see beautiful trees in 50-shades of orange, green and yellow and can sink their teeth into a roast turkey meal.

In addition to this, they’ll also visit the Jimmy Jock Boardwalk, the McAlister Motor Museum in Big Valley, and are encouraged to watch live entertainment among other things.
