Wild Rose Country is best known for its beautiful snow-covered mountains, but we’ve also got soft sand and plenty of sun in the warmer months.

Want to make a splash this summer? Located in Jasper National Park, Lake Annette has a stunning view, cooking shelters, metal fire rings – and a beach!

In addition to being the perfect place for an afternoon picnic, those brave enough can take a chilly dip in the turquoise water, then get a tan and take in some fresh air from the shore.

You won’t be able to take cover under the shade of a palm tree, but you will feel as though you’re a million miles away from home, so plan to stay a full day, and don’t forget to pack the essentials.

Not only should you bring a bathing suit, a cooler, and your friends and family, but consider bringing comfortable shoes.

Once you’ve taken a dip, you can also explore the 2.4 km paved trail or the playground (if you’re with your kids.)

Want to check it out?

Maybe we’ll see you there! It’s going to be a spicy one and this time around, there’s no better place to cool off.

Happy swimming!
