As spring approaches, everyone is looking for Canadian travel ideas. Luckily, we just found the ultimate retreat for glampers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Alberta is getting its very first floating sauna, and you can try it yourself this camping season!
Courtesy of the family-owned and operated Glamp Good, Ritual Floating Sauna sits on the serene waters of Twin Lake, just a short drive from Winfield. The sauna rests atop a floating dock complete with a firepit and lounge chairs to cool off and unwind. The only way to get to the sauna is by kayak, which is a fun part of the four-hour experience.
Here’s everything you need to know about Alberta’s first floating sauna and how to book it this season.
Unwind and feel the week’s stress melt away. Your sauna session begins with a short two to three-minute kayak ride to the floating dock. Bookings can be made for groups of up to four people, and you’ll have the sauna entirely to yourself for the four-hour period. If you book for four, this works out to $50 per hour per person for a fully private morning or evening time slot.
This is a 15+ age experience with no young children permitted.

The Ritual Floating Sauna is planning to open in May 2025, just in time for the spring travel season. While the private experience comes at a bit of a premium, you can cash in some discounts when you book it as part of a glamping experience at Glamp Good.
Glamp Good is a local and family-owned business run by a husband and wife duo. Their mission was to offer visitors a quiet place in nature to unplug and reset. The campground is nestled within 160 private off-grid acres of Boreal forest outside Winfield and includes private stays, a Nordic sauna, heated showers and toilets, along with a cookhouse for all your meal prep.
Book a retreat at one of their stunning glamping domes or Scandi-inspired A-frame cabins and add a floating sauna session to your stay! It’s an off-grid experience but with all the creature comforts.
