Fancy a trip to Dubai? You’re probably looking at a ticket costing a couple of grand, with a minimum of one or two stops. Fortunately, Vancouverites won’t have to wait much longer for new non-stop flights between the cities to launch!

Air Canada just announced the addition of a new route between Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and Dubai, making it the first airline to introduce non-stop flights from Western Canada to the Middle East.

“We are extremely pleased to add the only non-stop service linking Vancouver and Dubai, two iconic and vibrant global destinations,” says Mark Galardo, Senior Vice President of Network Planning and Revenue Management at Air Canada. “Dubai is one of the top destinations worldwide renowned for its extraordinary landmarks, rich culture and entertainment.”

This new service to Dubai also connects Western Canada to other exciting global destinations. Travellers from Vancouver will have easier access to the Middle East, Eastern Africa, the Indian subcontinent, and Southeast Asia through a partnership between Air Canada and Emirates.

Non-stop flights

The new non-stop flights will operate four times a week starting October 28th, 2023, complementing Air Canada’s daily service between Toronto and Dubai. So get ready to plan a fall trip aboard Air Canada’s flagship Dreamliner fleet!

Speaking of, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft will feature three cabins of service for passengers to choose from: Its Signature Class with lie-flat seats, Premium Economy, and Economy.

While onboard, passengers will have access to some of Canada’s top culinary talent, which includes award-winning Vancouver-based chefs like David Hawksworth and Vikram Vij. As well, travellers can enjoy some sips chosen by leading Canadian sommelier, Véronique Rivest.

Seats are now available for purchase online, via the Air Canada App, Air Canada’s Contact Centres, and travel agents.
