Did you know? You can go on a chef-led walking tour of Vancouver’s Chinatown

You don’t have to be a tourist to feel like one thanks to Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards. And you don’t have to be visiting Vancouver to appreciate the incredible eats & drinks in Chinatown!

For those who don’t know, this cultural and culinary walking tour takes guests through tons of iconic spots in the heart of Chinatown – and gives folks the opportunity to sample authentic fare from a variety of restaurants. And whether you’re an avid foodie or more of a history buff – we think this is a great option when considering fun day activities in the area, or even if you’re looking for some date inspo.

Best of all – the tour is led by an off-duty chef who certainly knows their way around the food scene. The tour will start with a leisurely stroll through the Dr. Sun Yat Sen Classical Chinese Garden, where your guide will provide an overview of Chinese culture in Vancouver, and point out landmarks you may have not even recognized on your own.

Next is the culinary portion of the tour. Your chef guide will help you navigate the many restos in Chinatown by choosing the tastiest hidden gems and local faves to try. The tour will then come to a close with a sit-down meal of piping hot dim sum.

Our personal faves? Definitely Kam Wai Dim Sum and pastries from New Town Bakery, to name a couple. Though there are plenty of options if you’re up for continuing on in a self-guided tour!

And that’s all for now, folks! Eat your hearts out on this top-rated guided tour and become a tourist in your own city.
