A whole bunch of new BC traffic webcams are up to help you plan your trip

Most of us have been there before… you’re on your way out for a little weekend getaway, or are even just taking a quick day trip to a new spot. Then, all of a sudden, you find yourself in some serious traffic, and have no idea what the hold up is. Well, DriveBC continues to help you (and your passengers) stay in the know, thanks to a whole bunch of new traffic webcams.

In 2021, 13 new cameras were added around the province, and they’re located everywhere from lesser-known ferry terminals to high-traffic highways. So, whether you’re taking the ferry to get across Kootenay Lake or just trying to get over the Golden Ears Bridge, you’ve now got real-time info (aside from whatever your Maps app is saying).

The new cameras, which offer 33 different traffic views, add to a pretty serious network of cameras already in place. Now, there are some 480 cameras offering close to 1000 different traffic views available on the DriveBC website. And, with road conditions changing rapidly during the winter months, it’s a great little amenity to keep in mind before you head out.

The more you know, fellow commuters!
