Sad that you weren’t rubbing shoulders with the art world big dogs at Art Basel last month? Don’t worry, because you can enjoy an upcoming arts festival that’s not just unique for Vancouver, but apparently all of Canada. What’s more, it’s got a very interesting focus!

That’s because this is an ‘outsider’ arts festival. Trained or self-taught, everyone showing during the festival is operating on the outskirts of current trends in the art world. So, whether it’s a painting or a sculpture or a mixed media work, one thing’s for sure- it’s going to be different.

Will you come across the next Bill Traylor? Well, maybe, but that’s not really the point of a festival like this. Instead, it’s about bringing together artists from all walks of life, who love to create art, and love to share it. From that perspective, we think it’s more than worth a visit while it’s on.

And, since admission is free, you might have a little spending money to pick something up while you’re there!
