Heads up food lovers, because the brand-new Persian restaurant Delara is opening in Kitsilano this week! Some of our regular readers may have caught our announcement a few weeks back about their takeout window, but this week is when dine-in kicks off.

Having taken over the old Burgoo spot on West 4th, the space has received a pretty significant reno to fit the cuisine. No more dark and gloomy walls, instead, you can expect a light and airy space that is perfect for a summer’s day.

The head chef/creator is Bardia Ilbeiggi, who has spent time at L’Abattoir and Farmer’s Apprentice over the years. Those are some pretty big deal names, so we’re confident that he’ll do a fantastic job of bringing authentic Persian dishes to the city.

Dinner will be served Wednesday to Sunday weekly, and there will be a weekend brunch available as well. As for dishes, expect everything from a light summer salad to a classic BBQ Chicken Kebab and even a saffron ice cream sandwich for dessert. Our advice? Head over there with a couple of friends and share a bunch of dishes, to really explore the menu.

Because, based on the success of the takeout window, this is going to become a must-visit spot in the city. Delara officially opens this Wednesday, and you can reserve a table below!
