A massive light festival is hitting downtown Calgary this winter & it’s totally FREE to attend

Think all of Calgary’s most colourful LEDs dim after Christmas? Think again! This February, long after you’ve taken down the tree, check out the fourth annual Glow Downtown Winter Light Festival, a one-of-a-kind event with immersive exhibits, art installations and live entertainment!

For two weekends only, Calgarians are encouraged to bundle up, grab a hot cocoa and stroll hand in hand through the downtown area where there will be everything from unique displays on buildings, street corners and even people, extended patios, fire pits and outdoor seating to keep you comfortable, warm and smiling,

Since 2017, this event has managed to get bigger and better year after year, keeping Calgarians out and active even in the dead of winter, exploring the city and enjoying the downtown area despite the cold, but that’s not even the best part.

This event is totally free, so check it out – and don’t forget to check out its festival partner Chinook Blast. Another extraordinary event happening in and around the inner city in celebration of the chillier months. You won’t regret it!

For more information or to read more about Calgary’s Chinook Blast (planned and facilitated by the Calgary Downtown Association) you can visit their website here. Enjoy!
